Writer’s Note
I like to think of this site as a workspace for my dreams, a place where thoughts become reality. In a world that often feels sharp and hurried, I created this space as a quiet refuge: a place for softness, imagination, and a slower pulse, explored through art, literature, and design.
The First Letter
I’ve always loved the idea of old-school letters, thoughts carefully written down and sent from one person to another. In that spirit, I’ll share the stories behind the projects on this site in a series of letters, starting with the Color Chart Project, which I hold close to my heart.![]()
Dear reader,
It began with an accident, as many unexpected things do. At the time, I was a graphic design student living in Stockholm. One sunny day, on my way to a familiar jogging trail, a driver lost control and swerved off the road just where I was walking. As horrible as it was, the recovery that followed gave me an unforeseen gift: time, time to rest, to reflect, and to let ideas quietly take shape. In that space, the idea for a book first appeared.
At the same time, painting had always been woven into the fabric of my life. Since I was little, my mother, an art teacher, filled our home with color and imagination, making sure my sisters and I always had the right tools: real brushes, rich paints, sturdy paper, and the quiet assurance that no idea was too bold, no project too ambitious, to bring to life.
Living at home again after the accident, these two experiences converged. At their intersection, the Color Chart Project took form. What began as the idea for a book gradually evolved into a series of artworks, where color itself became the protagonist.
Painting these charts was deeply meditative and became part of my healing, and it is still, to this day, a source of inspiration for me. My hope in sharing this project is that it offers you something similar: a quiet pause, a moment to reflect and spend time with color, an invitation to slow down and notice the beautiful, ever-shifting hues that surround us.
With warmth,
Lisa Bygdén
